Adobe FrameMaker

Authors using FrameMaker have the choice to author in the "normal", unstructured FrameMaker environment, or choose the "structured" interface.

Because of the significant difference between these two authoring interfaces, GRAFIX offers distinct classes depending on which enviornment you choose to work.

Please click on the link below to see the class schedule for the authoring environment you choose, unstructured or structured FrameMaker. If you are unsure which environment you are using or what the differences are, please feel free to contact us and we will help explain.

FrameMaker ("Unstructured")
Adobe FrameMaker is the industry standard software product for long-document publishing. With its powerful control over paragraph and character formatting, master pages, multi-chapter numbering and automatic generation of table of contents and index files, FrameMaker continues to be the preferred solution for the technical writing industry.

Structured FrameMaker
The structured authoring tools now packaged within the normal FrameMaker product import SGML or XML structured documents. This allows you to author and edit your documents in FrameMaker's efficient WYSIWYG interface, as well as publish your structured documents using FrameMaker's powerful word processing and formatting tools. In addition, you can then export the structured documents back out to SGML or XML.

The Structured FrameMaker classes are specifically designed for people who have SGML or XML requirements and wish to use the structured enviornment within FrameMaker to author and edit those documents. If you do not have structured authoring requirments, you will likely need only the "Unstructured" FrameMaker class.
