Adobe Technical Communication Suite (TCS) Integration Training
Cost: $500/day
Typically delivered as 2-day class, the first day highlights capabilities and integration between the four TCS applications. The second day allows for projects using student files.
The TCS is a complete solution for authoring, managing, and publishing interactive instructional information from technical documents and books to online help systems, knowledge bases, interactive training, and eLearning content in multiple formats and languages.
These latest versions enhance earlier functionality by allowing you to import Frame files into Robohelp by reference. Importing by reference allows content modified in Frame to automatically update within Robohelp. The imported files map FM styles to RH styles and allow new topics based on styles. All while still linked to the original FM files. RH also maintains conditional text, variables, and imported articulating 3D objects (easily imported and set up with Acrobat 3D toolkit, part of the TCS)
It’s pretty painless to set up the links to RH and the $999 upgrade cost includes Captivate, Acro 3D, a superset of Acro 8Pro that includes the Acrobat 3D toolkit.
Not too tough to justify, considering the difficulties you may encounter with cleaning using your current workflow.

GRAFIX also recommends the Maintenance contract to anyone buying Adobe s/w. Different from Tech Support, the Maintenance covers future upgrades, and historically is a fraction of upgrade prices.
Adobe has historically upgraded its software every 18 months at a minimum. The Maintenance costs me on average less than ½ of the upgrade price. |
